"Alex Schoenbaum had a dream and he envisioned an Enrichment Center on the West Side of Charleston to serve many needs to improve the family.

When I enter this building I realize that his dream has come true. Its services will impact the lives of thousands of families and will improve their quality of life.

I want to thank the myriads of people who worked together to see this to fruition, and the staff and volunteers, and the agencies who are serving people's needs. Thank you Community Council of Kanawha Valley (now LifeBridge, Inc.) for all your dedication. I am thrilled and so fortunate to be a part of it."

- Mrs. Schoenbaum, Founding Benefactress

Family Enrichment Center Donors and Supporters
As of June 2006

In September 2001, Family Enrichment Center honored Betty Schoenbaum and celebrated the naming of its facility that was undergoing major renovation. Betty Schoenbaum is the project’s founding donor and has pledged well over $1,000,000 to the project. Her late husband Alex pursued his vision for a social and human services center in Charleston and the development of this project until his death in 1996. Since then, local contributors and foundations have made early and significant investments in the FEC project that made it possible to open the doors of the Center on January 2002.

We are thankful for the trust our contributors have placed in us, and for their dedication of their time and resources to help make the Schoenbaum Family Enrichment Center an inviting place for everyone in our community who needs the assistance and services that is offered at the Center.

We are hopeful that others will share their vision and help to complete our fund raising goals so that quality programs and services will be available well into the future at Schoenbaum Family Enrichment Center.
